Exclusive Interview Ed Mylett, Top Industry Leader & Motivational Speaker

Ed Mylett is one of the top business leaders and peak performance experts in the world today. He is the host of the top-rated Max Out Podcast, serial entrepreneur, best-selling author, social media influencer and Ranked Top 50 Wealthiest Under 50 in the United States.

He grew up in Diamond Bar, California, as the only boy in the family with three younger sisters. His father was his first example of what it takes to succeed in life.

Ed decided from a very young age that since he would have to work in life, he might as well work for himself and call his own shots. He realized right away that he was not going to spend his life working for someone else and building their dreams.

His wife Kristianna, who had been his sweetheart since they were teenagers, shared that same vision of life. Her father was an engineer who worked hard so her mother could stay home with her six children.

Q: What would you say is the biggest lesson that you have learned about business? I am just a regular guy, I got where I am today because I have constantly put in hard work and not given up until I got there. Most people quit right before they become successful. Never quit on a bad day. It will get messy, business can be that way, but you just have to go with it.

Q: If you could speak to your younger self, what would you tell him? I’d tell him that he’s on his way, that everything he desires he can have if he puts in serious work. Believe in yourself, because I think confidence is gained when you build a reputation with yourself. I built that along the way. Also, dream God-sized dreams. The sky is not the limit, it never ends.

Q: Did you ever experience a tipping point? What do you attribute your success to? My tipping point was when Kristiana and I were newlyweds and our first house was just foreclosed on. I remember we had no running water, let alone anything else. I had to hold a towel to shield her at the pool while she took a shower. I wanted to make her proud. I often look back on that memory each day when I take a shower, because it’s the simple things that I am truly grateful for.

Q: What is a current or coming project that you are excited about? Big stuff coming! I’ll let you know when it goes public.

Q: How do you balance family, work, personal time and personal growth? I think balance is a tricky concept. The truth is I live every part of my life as fully as I can. Family is first to me, no matter what. I make specific time to be with them, and when I am there I make sure I am really THERE and present. It’s more about quality than quantity.

Q: Is there something that audiences don’t know about you that you would like to share? I actually consider myself an introvert. I’m a sensitive, caring guy sometimes even a shy guy. I speak to audiences of thousands of people and I have some fun flashy materials but at the end of the day, I truly appreciate the simplest of things.
